Privacy policy
How we handle your personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Who we are
This store is operated by eautoparts. Questions about privacy go to our contact page.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, phone number, delivery address, an ABN if you give one, and what you bought.
- If you create an account: your email address and any saved addresses and details.
- While you shop: the contents of your cart, and your IP address, which we use to prevent abuse such as repeated sign-in attempts.
- Payments: handled by Stripe and PayPal. We receive confirmation that you paid and a reference, never your full card number.
Why we collect it
To process and deliver your order, send your receipt and order updates, let you sign in and keep your cart, handle returns and questions, meet our tax record-keeping obligations, and keep the store secure. We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run the store:
- Stripe and PayPal, to take payments.
- Our delivery couriers, to deliver your parts.
- Resend, which sends our emails, such as sign-in codes and receipts.
- Our hosting providers, which store the website and its database: Vercel, Railway, Neon and Cloudflare.
Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use them because they’re needed to operate the store, and they are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Cookies and browser storage
We set one cookie of our own, which keeps your cart and your sign-in for up to 60 days, and only once you add a part or sign in. It isn’t used for tracking or advertising. If you save parts to your shortlist, that list is kept in your own browser, not on our servers.
On the payment step, Stripe and PayPal load their own code, which sets their own cookies to detect fraud. Those are covered by Stripe’s and PayPal’s privacy policies.
Keeping it secure
Sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form, connections to the store are encrypted, and access to order information is restricted.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can see and update your details and addresses on your account page. To ask for a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion, email our contact page. We may need to keep order records for as long as tax law requires.
Complaints
If you’re concerned about how we’ve handled your information, contact us first and we’ll work to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
